Study on the Torsional Degress of Upper Anterior Teeth of Koreans

Abstract
The torsional degrees of the upper anterior teeth were measured in 106 Koreans. The standard occlusal plane was set to the cusps of the upper cuspids and to the edge of the upper central incisors in both sides. Following were the results;
1) The mean values of the torsional degrees were; 86.24¢ª in the right central incisor, 83.57¢ª in the left central incisor, 63.85¢ª in the right lateral incisor, 60.17¢ª in the left, lateral incisor, 34.03¢ª in the right canine and 33.61¢ª in the left canine.
2) A highly significant positive correlation was noted in the torsional degrees of the central and lateral incisors on the same side.
3) A very significant positive correlation was noted in the central incisor in case of the left and right identical teeth.
4) A significant positive correlation was noted in the anterior teeth arrangement in case of the left and right, while no significant correlation in the posterior teeth arrangement.
